1. How does TengoTuMascota work? 

TengoTuMascota is a simple, safe, stylish and incredibly effective way to protect your pets. We connect members whose pets have gone missing with the people who find them, via a secure and anonymous chat messaging system, or via an online pet profile. When you purchase your TengoTuMascota pet tag you are issued with a unique ID number that is used to identify and protect your pet.  In the unfortunate event that your pet goes missing, any potential finder of your pet, will be directed to www.TengoTuMascota.es where he/she will enter your unique pet tag ID number. We will automatically notify you by email that your pet has been located. The next step is to put you in touch with the finder. Once the finder has written to you via a secure chat room, simply arrange a mutually convenient collection time and place be reunited with your pet. You also have the ability to create a unique online pet profile on Pet Fetch where you can leave as many contact details as you wish. Once the finder of your missing pet inserts your details into the system they will have full access to all of the information you have shared about your pet. 

2. How do I sign up?  

You can purchase an TengoTuMascota pet ID tag online or from one of our official partners. Once you have your tag all you need to do is create your account by adding a verified email address (this is important, we’ll need to contact you via email if your pet is missing) and create a password. That’s it, your account is setup. Just make sure to securely attach your TengoTuMascota tag to your pet’s collar and the protection will begin immediately. 

3. How do I report my pet missing with TengoTuMascota?

In the unfortunate event that your pet protected by TengoTuMascota goes missing, you have an option to proactively report them missing. This will notify anyone who finds your pet with an advanced message on how they can return them to you. Simply log into your TengoTuMascota account via the website and click on “Report Loss”. From here you’ll have the option to report your pet missing and leave instructions, or advice on your pet’s requirements to the future finder of your missing pet. 

4. I just found someone’s pet protected by TengoTuMascota, what now? 

First and foremost, thank you for reaching out to the owner via TengoTuMascota. Returning a lost pet to its grateful owner has never been so easy, fast and safe. 

Step 1 - The first thing you need to do is visit www.TengoTuMascota.es and type in the ID number found on the missing pets TengoTuMascota tag. 

Step 2 - You will then be redirected to a secure chat room where you can send a message to the owner to let him/her know you have their pet and can arrange a mutually convenient pick-up or drop off location.

Recovering a forgotten password on TengoTuMascota is easy. Visit the TengoTuMascota login page on the app or via the website and proceed to the login page to find the “Forgotten password” link.

9. Can I update & change my details on TengoTuMascota.es  

Yes, changing your details on TengoTuMascota is simple. Log into your TengoTuMascota account and navigate to the My Details page. 

10. If I lose my pet(s) more than once, am I still covered by TengoTuMascota? 

Of course! As long as your TengoTuMascota account is active, and your pet is wearing their pet tag your pets are protected all the time.

11. How secure is the retrieval chat room between owners and finders?

It is as secure as it gets! First, neither party see each other's personal details as the chat is administered by a centralized engine hiding email addresses on both sides. There are simply no electronic ways for finders in possession of your pets to find out who they are speaking with during the retrieval process. Second, it is clearly stated that all chat conversations are recorded to prevent and/or settle any unlikely unethical behaviours. TengoTuMascota will use these recordings, if necessary, to safeguard the interest of its members against any rare case of ill-intentioned finders.

Alternitively via your online TengoTuMascota pet profile you can provide as many or as few methods of contact that you'd like. This includes multiple phone numbers, emails, addresses and any other form of contact you prefer. 

12. Do I need to pay a reward for the recovery of my pet? 

No. Our service relies solely on the altruism of others and you are in no way required to reward the finder of your missing pet. Any reward/compensation is at the sole discretion of users.

13. Can you guarantee that I will find my pet in the event they are missing? 

While we continue to expect exceptionally high recovery rates for all of our members’ pets, we simply cannot guarantee a successful outcome every time as certain environmental factors are down to luck. We apologize in advance if it happens to you. Please do not hesitate to visit our terms and conditions or contact us to get in touch. 

14. Does TengoTuMascota work internationally? 

Yes, no matter where you are in the world, our online retrieval system allows finders to contact owners of pets protected by TengoTuMascota tags safely through our anonymous chat system. You can therefore arrange to have your missing pet returned to you anywhere in the world. Whenever you travel you can update your pet's online profile, with new or temporary details, which will all be accessible to the finder of a missing pet via their TengoTuMascota tag. 

15. What happens if I change my email address? 

Our retrieval system relies on you having up-to-date details registered to your ID number to ensure that you can be notified when your pet is recovered.
